How I went from stay at home mom to Boutique owner?

Madison Avila

If you are new to my page, WELCOME. My name is Madison and I am the owner of West ‘N Whit boutique. Kinda crazy to say, since it’s just me and my two little’s, building this business from our home.
I come from all over and have had lots of careers or jobs if you will. Not sure if you can call them careers if you no longer do them But here we go.
I have been a visual merchandiser for Old Navy, I went to beauty school in Orange County, CA and did hair for almost 8 years. When I moved back to my home town Reno, NV, I learned that I would have to go back to school to become licensed to do hair here. Well, being newly pregnant and ready to be all things wife and family, I decided to be a stay at home mom because anyone can do that. Right? WRONG! Hardest job, EVER! Boy do I wonder, if I would have just went back to school. lol
After being a stay at home mom, I realized I was not made to just stay at home. I missed work, I missed people, I missed me. So I did what any other stay at home mom who wants more out of their life does. I signed up with an MLM. Beachbody was my first for three years. Never did get that beach body tho. lol Then I naturally graduated myself to Lularoe. Clothes seemed more fun then convincing people to get healthy.
My BeachBody and Lularoe life colliding.
Through some ups and downs I found myself starting my own Boutique. It’s been a crazy ride to get here and someday I will share it but for now, this is the ruff draft for you.
When I decided that this was it and I was going to jump in with both feet, it was easy for me to think of a name. My reason’s for dreaming, my reason’s for doing everything I do, My reason’s for being who I am and who I strive to be. My kids.
‘West’ comes from my son’s name Westley. I grew up watching the Princess Bride and my dad always quoting, “My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!” I don't know why he loved that line so much but he did. lol But seriously, If you haven't seen that movie, It’s a must watch. ‘Whit’ comes from my daughter’s name Whitney. Her name was easy and was picked only to compliment Westley’s name. I grew up with siblings in my family having the same first letter in their names. Plus, every Whitney I ever knew has been gorgeous. Like, I said, easy.
So here we are, with this beautiful dream. A mom with her two kids, making it big in life with her small business, that started in their home. Most days are crazy. It’s me trying to message my customers back about a top while my daughter is coloring the wall with my makeup and my son driving his cars all over my wood furniture. But its all good and we are building one customer at a time.
Im beyond grateful to have you, my customer. If you haven't met me in person yet, just know that I care about YOU and who you are. I don't focus on how many sales I can get, I focus on how I can serve you better. I’m a giver and that is what fills my cup.
I hope you join in on one of my lives so we can hang out and play dress up. I hope that you have the best experience and I hope you feel confident in these clothes.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to getting to know you.
